Harry Smith- President

A graduate of RPI with a Masters’ Degree in Management and Industrial Systems Engineering, Harry spent the first half of his career in various manufacturing and general management assignments with Chemcut, Figgie International, and Dirt Devil. He joined Automation Plastics in 1994 as General Manager and purchased the company from Henry DeRocher in 1999.
He and his wife Katie spend time, when possible, with their 3 grown children, Perry, Karen, and McKenzie, and new grandchild, Caleb. Their faithful Wheaton Terrier and Rottweiler are always home to provide comic relief. And they enjoy frequent involvement in a variety of activities at the Parish of St. Rita in Solon, along with an occasional ride on their motorcycle.
Jeff Ignatowski- Vice President-Sales and Marketing
Jeff joined Automation Plastics in February of 2018. He has spent his entire career in both decorative and functional plastics focusing on the automotive, appliance and industrial markets and specializes in growing and transforming companies
Dave Robison- Vice President Engineering
Dave joined Automation Plastics in January of 2018 and brings over 28 years of engineering and product development experience in the plastics industry, most recently as the Senior Manager of Engineering of Global Gas Components with Honeywell. Dave is responsible for over a dozen design patents in plastic components and is an expert in thick-wall molding.
Desirae Metcalfe- Human Resources Manager
Desirae joined Automation Plastics in September, 2013. She has over 20 years’ experience in Human Resources, is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. Prior to joining Automation Plastics, Desirae’s main focus was on mediation and arbitration cases as well as EEOC Compliance in a large manufacturing environment. She spent two years in the banking industry in various roles before starting her career in the Human Resources field.
Desirae previously served as the VP of Legislation on the Lake Geauga (LGA) Board, a local SHRM chapter. She also served 9 years on the Board of Directors for Family Pride, a non-profit organization aiding at-risk youth.
Will Wilke- Production Manager
Will has been with APC since 1996. He has performed in various roles in his time at Automation Plastics: Shift Supervisor, Quality Manager, Process Engineer, and has been in the role of Production Manager since 2007. Will has degrees in Plastic Processing Technology from Lorain County Community College and in Automated Manufacturing Engineering Technology from Akron University.
Jerome Smith- Engineering Manager
Jerome has been with Automation Plastics since receiving his B.S. Degree in Plastics Engineering Technology from Penn State Behrend in 1997. He also has an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. At APC he has been intimately involved in nearly every aspect of the business with his primary focus on plastic part design, mold design, cost estimating, and project management.
