In-house tooling and Mold Making:

In-house mold making, maintenance, and repair are a vital part of our success. Recent upgrades to our mold making capabilities exhibit the importance we place on this part of our business. Our in house capabilities include: surface grinding, OD centerless grinding, jig grinding, CNC milling, CNC turning, CNC die sinking EDM. With these tools, we can build and maintain high quality molds that will rival anyone in the industry when it comes to high cavitation flash free small parts with tolerances to +/-.001". Each year, we produce hundreds of millions of parts with small holes. Holes less than .020" are common and we've demonstrated that holes less than .010" are possible for large volume production.

Automation Plastics' tooling department also maintains a large spare parts inventory, allowing repairs to be made in-house. Unlike shops that send their molds to outside vendors for repair, Automation Plastics customers benefit from superior customer service, quick turnaround and fast return to production.
